Sunburn began in 2007 as a three-day music festival in Goa and has since evolved into an aspirational lifestyle brand with an eclectic mix of music, entertainment, experiences, and celebration that has sparked music tourism in India.
According to a 2014 International Music Summit report, Sunburn was “as big as Tomorrowland and Ultra”.It was ranked by CNN in 2009 as one of the Top 10 Festivals in the world.
Percept Ltd opened the Sunburn Arena, which featured Avicii, at the Turf Club in Mumbai in 2011. Sunburn City Festival, Sunburn Campus, and Sunburn Reload debuted in 2012, as did Sunburn Colombo, Percept’s first international festival. Sunburn has grown to include many acclaimed DJs over the years, including Swedish House Mafia, Hardwell, David Guetta, Axwell, Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike, Paul Van Dyk, Marshmello, Chainsmokers, Afrojack, Pete Tong, Tiesto, Armin van Buren, DeadMau5, Carl Cox, DJ Snake, and Skazi.
As the year comes to a close, Goa is luring music fans from all over the world to partake in an electrifying celebration of electronic beats to ring in the New Year. From December 28 to 31, the coastal haven will host the Sunburn Festival, Asia’s largest electronic dance music extravaganza, as revelers from Kerala flock north along the coastal route in search of a unique and vibrant setting to ring in the New Year.
