Frank Ocean drops out of Coachella and got replaced by…

The announcement adds, “Frank Ocean will not be performing at Coachella weekend 2.” “In the week preceding weekend 1, he broke his leg while attending a festival. Since Frank Ocean was unable to execute the planned show but was yet determined to do so, the show had to be modified within 72 hours.

Ocean is unable to perform weekend 2 owing to two fractures and a sprain in his left leg, per the doctor’s recommendation. It was hectic, the secretive singer continued in the statement. Even turmoil has its beauty. Although it wasn’t what I had in mind, I did have fun being outside and I hope to see you again soon.

For Coachella Weekend 2’s performance, Blink-182, who just performed as their original trio during the festival’s first weekend, will take Frank Ocean’s place. As noted by Variety, the announcement follows days of controversy surrounding Ocean’s divisive performance during the festival’s opening weekend.

Despite arriving late, the 35-year-old artist played 20 songs, including altered versions of popular songs like “Pink + White,” “Solo,” “Chanel,” and “Wiseman.” From his 2016 video album Endless, Ocean finished with a cover of Aaliyah’s “At Your Best (You Are Love).”
