The new trailer for Monkey Man features John Wick-style action and glowing praise for Dev Patel’s impending directorial debut. The film follows Kid, a young man on a mission of vengeance against the corrupt police officer who killed his mother. The film has received rave reviews, particularly for its story and action moments. Many critics have compared it positively to the well-known Keanu Reeves-led franchise from which it draws inspiration.
In addition to making his directorial debut, Patel acts in the film and penned the narrative that inspired the screenplay.
