Gru and the Minions are back, as Universal and Illumination’s “Despicable Me 4” has released its first trailer. One of the most popular animated film franchises, Despicable Me, is ready to mark its premiere in the theatres with its fourth part. Serving as a sequel to ‘Despicable Me 3’ released in 2017, this sixth instalment in the franchise has excited audiences of all ages since its announcement.
While Gru has now become a happy family man, his happiness doesn’t last for too long, as he now encounters a new adversary in Maxime Le Mal (Will Ferrell), along with his femme fatale girlfriend Valentina (Sofia Vergara), leading the family to leave their home and go on the run for their survival.
Evident from the trailer itself, the film perfectly balances heart-warming family moments and the over-the-top, humourous antics of the characters, promising a thrilling viewing experience brimming with continuous action and stomach-hurting laughter.
Directed collaboratively by Patrick Delage and Chris Renaud, Despicable Me 4 will bring back its beloved characters of Gru, Lucy, their kids, and the Minions. They produced jointly under the banners of Universal and Illumination. ‘Despicable Me Four’ is slated to hit the big screens on July 3.
