Oscar winner Cillian Murphy will return to star in the Peaky Blinders film which will begin shooting in September, according to series creator Steven Knight .
Cillian Murphy will reprise his role as Tommy Shelby in the upcoming film adaptation of the hit series Peaky Blinders. Fans were convinced that a film wouldn’t be complete without him, and the show’s creators couldn’t agree more.
Steven Knight, the creator of the critically acclaimed BBC smash franchise Peaky Blinders, has recently announced Cillian Murphy’s involvement in the cinematic adaptation.
The actor is ready to bring his unparalleled charisma and style back to Birmingham’s streets. The creators also hinted at a release date, with filming beginning in September.
Murphy, well known for his award-winning performance in Christopher Nolan’s film Oppenheimer, will now reprise his role after appearing in the initial series. “He will undoubtedly return for it. “We’re shooting it in September right down the road in Digbeth,” Knight stated during an interview at the premiere of his new BBC series, This Town.
Peaky Blinders made its international debut on BBC Two in 2013, and it quickly became a hit when it was offered on Netflix. Although the series ended in April 2022, Knight has declared a desire to expand the story into a film, which is now in the works. Aside from Cillian Murphy, the cast includes Tom Hardy, Paul Anderson, Helen McCrory, and others.
