Varun Dhawan has often expressed his love for action movies, and now, his dream of playing an action hero has come true. Director Atlee has officially confirmed his collaboration with Varun Dhawan, not as a director but as a producer for the film titled VD18.
Varun Dhawan and Atlee’s collaboration got a new update. Atlee took to his social media handle to share the news about unveiling the new update on February 4.As per the post on the microblogging site, the film is titled ‘Baby John’. It also revealed that the film has been granted the UA certification by the CBFC.
Varun took to his Instagram handle in December last year to announce that he had wrapped up the film’s Kochi schedule. Sharing a series of photos, Varun wrote, “Thank u Kerala. Sched wrap #vd18.” Talking about the film with Pinkvilla earlier, Varun Dhwan said, “All I can say is it’s a mass-action entertainer. There is a lot of entertainment in the film, which I love as well. And, I’m just going to give it my all.”
VD18 is the Hindi remake of Thalapathy Vijay’s blockbuster film Theri. The film will mark Varun’s first collaboration with Atlee. The movie will be directed by Tamil filmmaker Kalees. According to reports, the movie is slated for release on May 31, 2024.
