OMG 2 is capturing the audience’s hearts, and it’s clear to see why! The movie starring Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi, and Yami Gautam is steadily approaching a domestic box office collection of Rs 100 crores. There were various rumors about the film’s production budget.

Some said it was made on a budget of Rs 150 crores, and there was buzz about Akshay Kumar’s significant fee for the new movie. However, the producer of OMG 2 has dispelled all these speculations with a surprising statement: Akshay did not receive any payment.

Speaking to an online entertainment news portal, Ajit Andhare, the COO of Viacom18, clarified that the reports regarding the budget of OMG 2 are greatly exaggerated.

He disclosed that Akshay Kumar didn’t receive any payment for his role in the movie. In fact, Akshay not only acted in the film but also supported it as a producer. Andhare stated, “Akshay didn’t ask for any fee,” as reported by Pinkvilla.

The producer explains that he has collaborated with Akshay on several movies including OMG, Special 26, and Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, among others. Ajit emphasizes that without Akshay Kumar, venturing into such a significant risk wouldn’t have been feasible. He goes on to mention that the actor from “Bade Miyan Chote Miyan” not only contributed creatively but also financially to the film’s success.

Indeed, different figures have emerged on various platforms regarding the budget of OMG 2. Some sources claimed it was produced with a budget of Rs 100 crore, while others suggested Rs 150 crore, and so forth. However, these figures don’t appear to be accurate. A report from a media portal cites a source stating that the actual budget for OMG 2 was slightly below Rs 50 crores. Comparatively, the previous film, OMG, was created with a budget of Rs 25 crores.
