77th Cannes Film Festival : The Cannes Film Festival returns from May 14 to 25, bringing a host of film stars and celebrated filmmakers to France’s Cote d’Azur.
Thierry Fremaux, Cannes’ creative director, unveiled the selections at a press conference in Paris alongside festival president Iris Knobloch, stating that this year’s lineup was chosen from 2,000 submissions.
Though Frémaux stated that he entered into the process concerned about the impact of last year’s strikes on American films, the program is normally packed of renowned foreign filmmakers as well as a few widely anticipated blockbusters.

This year, the festival will introduce a competitive immersive segment presenting works in virtual and augmented reality.
