Shahid Kapoor wonders why he did Padmaavat.

Shahid Kapoor, son of veteran actor Pankaj Kapur, is a phenomenal actor and dancer. He is best known for his roles in Kabir Singh, Padmaavat and Jab We Met, to name a few. In a recent interview, the actor was candid, dropping many interesting tidbits and revealing much of his personal and professional life.

When asked if the actor ever felt insecure and if he felt short-changed in the movie “Padmaavat”, the actor honestly answered, “I did, I don’t want to get into the details, I don’t, because I think everybody was fantastic in that film and everybody did a lovely job. But I did feel at times, I was like, why did I do this film.” Padmaavat, though met with controversy, initially went on to win over audiences. In particular, actors Deepika and Ranveer received high praise for their intense portrayals of the heroine and villain, while Shahid was often left out, probably causing the actor to feel this way. Though the actor did quickly add that he wasn’t blaming anyone and that was just his perspective at the time.

The rest of the interview was more laid back, with Shahid Kapoor revealing that his dad actually named ‘Jab We Met’ while eating dinner and that he had danced in the background for many actors during award shows as a child. The actor went on to say that his brother Ishaan is the most promising younger generation actor and that Mira Kapoor was totally unaffected by their stardom when they met initially.
