Sameera Reddy, known for her roles in movies like , Race, Surya S/o Krishnan Jai Chiranjeeva etc, is now known to netizens as ‘Messy Mama’ on Instagram. The actress turned influencer now posts hilarious reels with her kids and mother-in-law, who goes by ‘Sassy Sasu.’
The actress has done a great deal to promote body positivity and a safe space for people who are insecure about the way they look, especially for mothers. The actress does not shy away from flaunting her grey hair or talking about her “rolls” and its truly inspiring to see how she, instead of dwelling on the “negatives”, chooses to better herself and her new body.
While talking to a popular news host recently, the actress spilled the beans regarding her Instagram journey. “I’ll tell you the harsh reality of it all, I was pregnant 4 years ago and wanted to come back and have this really nice conversation. First of all, no one wanted the conversation.” She said that everyone expected “sexy Sam” and would drop off from her social media when she wanted to talk about reality.
“Second, I started reaching out to people like ‘hey do you mind doing shout-outs because people don’t know I am here.’ And no one shouted me out, people just ignored me,” she shared.
She then apparently approached some agencies, who asked her what her brand was. “Are you going to be a yummy-mummy like Malaika or a yoga-mummy like Shilpa Shetty?” Sameera Reddy went on to say that she simply wanted to create a space for conversation, “Am not going down this yoga-mummy space, I can’t keep up with this shit” and started posting random reels which eventually lead to brand deals with Westside etc.
The heroine now has over 1 Million followers, Billions of views, numerous brand sponsorships and is loved and admired for keeping it real and making people laugh.
