Sameera Reddy On How She Met Her Husband:
Actress Sameera Reddy recently sat down for a fun chat and got super candid regarding her life from being a top notch actress to now being a loved Instagram personality known for keeping it real. The actress credited her husband with being the catalyst of her journey. On the topic of her husband Akshai, the actress shared the adorable and funny story of how she met him.
The two first met during the shoot of a segment for a popular new-outlet during which Sameera had to ride a motorbike and Akshai was the auto expert. Sameera recalled, ” I don’t usually gasp or drool, I am usually very controlled, *imitates bike sounds* he came up and I was like ‘you look hot on that bike, it just came flying out of mouth!” Laughing, she continued saying, “It was like an Ad, he took off his helmet, he’s like *in a deep voice* ‘Hi I’m Akshai,’ and I in that moment was like * baffled expression* what, Hi, And it was like game over guys.”
“I was drooling, I was behaving like an idiot.” The actress said that when her now husband asked her then if she could handle the bike, she bluffed and said she could just to appear cool to him while she was actually shaking in her boots. “I need to pataou (bag) this guy.”
The Surya S/o Krishnan star revealed that she was the one that got his number saying that her friend and actor Vivek Oberoi might want a bike. The actress sweetly concluded, saying “He had me from the moment go! And it’s been nearly 14 years and he still has me right there, which is nice.”
In regards to their first date the actress revealed that it was a “funny story” , Sameera apparently turned up to their date dressed to the nines having come from the FilmFare award ceremony thinking she looked amazing and that he would be impressed to which her date Akshai asked her if she could wash up before they headed out, asking for a rain-check. The actress laughed and admitted that she “cried buckets” but admired that he cared about her and what was underneath all the frills saying ” I just need you not all this”.
Reddy married Akshai Varde, an entrepreneur, on 21 January 2014, in a traditional Maharashtrian ceremony. They have a son and daughter.
