Ananya Panday a Hindi actress and model, is currently promoting her upcoming film, Dream Girl 2 starring Ayushmann Khurrana. The actress made her Tollywood debut with Liger acting with Vijay Devarkonda, the movie however did astonishingly bad at the box office and bred a lot of negativity towards Ananya and her acting skills.
Liger was directed by popular Telugu director Puri Jagannadh and marked a major flop in both Ananya’s and Vijay’s careers.
When asked how she handles such negativity and failure the actress said, “I don’t think I question myself as an actor. When something doesn’t do well and if you start listening to everyone, critics, it doesn’t work. I think first you should listen to your own voice and kind of understand what was wrong with the decision that you made.
You have to look at every aspect. What was wrong with the film? Did I do something wrong? It is important to access all of it.” She went on to say that it’s important to not be too harsh on yourself and not let other people’s perceptions bring you down.
“So, yes you do through that. But it is also important to not beat yourself up too much about it. There could be literally any factor. A film could actually find its audience on OTT, and a good film will eventually find its audience. I don’t believe in beating myself too much.”
Ending on a positive note the actress said, “I am also new and have a long career. I am sure that I will be making many many mistakes on the way, but it is important to learn from them and know what to do next and move on. You cannot keep thinking about it.”
It looks like both the Liger stars are taking the failure in stride as Vijay also recently laughed off the failure of this film while promoting his upcoming rom-com, Kushi. Ananya’s Dream Girl 2 is releasing on August 25 2023 while Vijay’s Kushi will be out on September 1st 2023.
