After seeing a long lineup of utter flops, Bollywood has finally got some respite with Brahmastra. Albeit not a super successful venture as it was expected to be, it didn’t go down the hill like other Bollywood biggies. As the wait for a film that brings back the B-Town movies on track continues, Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan-starrer Vikram Vedha is looked upon as that movie. Many Bollywood cinephiles are rooting for the success of this multistarrer. On the contrary, the movie team seems to be either overconfident or negligent about the film. The action flick’s release date is on the 30th of this month, i.e, September. Yet, there is no noise at all from the VV team. No aggressive promotions of any kind are planned although D-day is approaching fast.
The laziness of the movie team is baffling to many as the film definitely has the capability to be that one film that can bring back the fortunes of Bollywood. The trailer already has a great impact and grabbed a lot of eyeballs. But the poor promotions of the movie means, very few pre-sales. Especially, the US market, which is a major center for Hrithik’s films, had done very minimal pre-sales. If the trade reports are to be believed, just 40K Dollars were collected from the pre-sale of tickets across 340 plus locations. It is definitely shocking for a movie that has Hrithik and Saif in the lead roles. Made as the remake of a Tamil film with the same name, the plot is about the fight between the moral values of the police and a criminal. Directors of the original, Pushkar-Gayatri are helming the Hindi remake too. As of now, the film does not have any craze and only the mouth talk might save the face of the flick.
