Vidya Balan says these ‘hotties’ were her neighbours

Vidya Balan, the flag bearer of marginalized, earth-shattering roles in Bollywood is currently seen celebrating the success of pixie cut special Neeyat besides underrated artists Ram Kapoor, Prajakta Koli, Shahana, Rahul Bose, and Mita Vashisht in a murder mystery, said to be the adaptation of a novel.

As a child, Vidya spend her little girl days in Chembur, the harbour part of Mumbai – the city that never sleeps. Back then, she did not know she was the junior of a now Thumka Queen and Never Aging superstar Shilpa Shetty. With her forever small waist and her dance moves, she’s currently rocking the throne of the judge panel in various dance shows.

Meanwhile, Malaika Arora was her neighbour, again, all three of them unaware of the fame they were going to pocket in their futures. Time truly flew for these young girls who turned their dreams into reality. Currently, Kerala-born Vidya Balan is enjoying her stay in western Mumbai at Bandra with her husband Siddharth Roy.

In an interview, Vidya Balan shares that Shilpa Shetty was senior to her by 3 years, and was the sweetest candy to exist in the campus. Balan’s mom decided one day that her daughter needs to learn basketball. At 6 in the morning, she was out on the ground when Shilpa taught her how to dribble. Little Vidya Balan was thrilled to have learnt that. This is the time when rumours about Shlipa’s entry as an actress had already spread like wildfire. Balan told her mom there was no need to go again since she’s learnt everything with just the dribbling.

About Malaika Arora, Vidya reveals she has always been a head-turner. When she would pass through her lane for her French class, boys would wait at the window pane for a glance. “Chembur has produced too many hotties, what to do?” says Vidya with a laugh, subtly appreciating her own hotness.
