Alencier Ley Lopez creates havoc
The 56th Kerala Awards recently created havoc on the internet due to an actor’s inappropriate behavior. The recent Kerala Awards was held at Nishagandhi Auditorium and Kerala CM graced the event. Alencier Ley Lopez was nominated for the Special Jury Award. The actor’s spectacular performance bagged him an award but it is his sensational statement that got him extreme negativity.
Alencier stated, “Don’t tempt us with female sculptures” on receiving the award in front of the honorable guests and CM. The public roared at this sexist statement of Lopez. Netizens mentioned how disappointed they were that he made a joke about the award. In the Western nations if art is called a craftsman or artist’s work, in India craft is regarded as Kaaladevi, and artists take it extremely seriously.
Upon the netizens demanding an apology, the Alencier declined to apologize which led the netizens to rage of demand the government to take the award away. The controversy doesn’t end here, Alencier claims that he will stop acting on the day the award sculpture turns into a male sculpture.
