VJ doesn’t want Krithi to sign for his film

Sign For His Film

Vijay Sethupathi who is currently busy with multiple projects in his hands and has been committed for a few years has discouraged one of his filmmakers from signing Krithi Shetty as the female lead. The actor refused to work with Krithi Shetty.

The reason for the actor refusing to work with the Custody actress is not because he doesn’t want to work with her but because Vijay Sethupathi portrayed the character of Krithi Shetty’s father in Uppena in 2021 which also received the National Best Film Telugu in 2023.

Uppena became a blockbuster surpassing 100 crores box office and achieving remarkable commercial success. Coincidentally, Vijay and Krithi never acted together for a project after Uppena and when the Laabham team planned to cast the Shyam Singha Roy actress, Vijay refrained from casting her alongside his side as the female lead.

VJ also thinks given the age gap she is too young to co-star along his side and Vijay Sethupathi made a commendable decision of not working with Krithi after she had played his daughter in Uppena. Talking about how Laabham and Uppena are shooting simultaneously he can act with Krithi in one of the films as her father and in another romance the same woman so he instantly rejects turning down their advancements.

Vijay Sethupathi opening about working with Krithi said, “While shooting for the climax scene, I told Krithi to think of me as her father. My son was 15 around that time, and he is a little young for Krithi. I also treated her as my daughter. I can never romance her on the screen.” Later Shruti Haasan was roped in for the film Laabham.
