As the Independence Day weekend approaches, Tamil and Telugu cinema fans eagerly anticipate the clash between two big films, ‘Jailer’ and ‘Bholaa Shankar,’ at the box office. The excitement is palpable with Rajinikanth and Chiranjeevi’s massive global fan following.
While ‘Jailer’ is a Tamil film and ‘Bholaa Shankar’ is in Telugu, the pre-release business suggests that ‘Jailer’ currently holds a slight advantage over ‘Bholaa Shankar’ worldwide. Fans are in for a delightful cinematic treat from these two superstar-studded films.
In Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, the situation differs from the worldwide scenario. Trade analyst Ramesh Bala explains that ‘Jailer’ will enjoy a solo release one day ahead of ‘Bholaa Shankar’, which is advantageous for a Tamil film. However, on August 11, the focus will be on ‘Bholaa Shankar’. These two states have many theatres, so both films will have sufficient screens. Even if ‘Bholaa Shankar’ secures the majority of screens, Rajinikanth’s ‘Jailer’ is expected to have at least 300-400 screens. ‘Jailer’ could earn Rs 2-4 crore daily in these regions.
Initial reports suggest that both ‘Jailer’ and ‘Bholaa Shankar’ are expected to perform well during their opening weekend, given the star power of Rajinikanth and Chiranjeevi and the anticipation among fans. However, the final verdict will heavily rely on the reviews and word-of-mouth from the audience. Positive reviews boost the film’s performance, while negative feedback impacts its box office run. The audience’s preferences can change based on the critical reception and word-of-mouth publicity after the film’s release.
