Prasads: It’s an Emotion

Nothing new needs to be said about Prasads theatre. The theater has a brand as it has always been a multiplex theatre, being the first to have a large imax screen. The morning show in Hyderabad is first shown there. Many movie celebrities and movie lovers come to Prasads Theatre.

Prasads is a vibe, giving people the same joy and feeling of serenity that an early morning shower and temple visit offer. Although unlike gods and temples, the ever varying movie plots sometimes result in headaches. Despite any drawbacks, Prasads is still a hot spot for cinephiles, offering one of the best cinematic experiences.

Once upon a time, people who came to see the movies in Prasad’s used to give reviews. There were also those who went to the cinema after watching said videos. But now it is not like that, some viewers and some YouTube channels have changed the whole review method. They have stopped talking about the movie and started putting on shows in hopes of becoming spectacles and going viral. Some YouTube channels have also made a lot of money using these antics. It has become less about art and love for cinema and more about some poor attempt at comedy.

After watching a movie, how is that movie? What did the director want to convey through his film? Or how did he entertain the audience? How is the cinematography? How much is the music a plus for the movie? How are the dialogues? Why should the audience watch this movie? Discussions like these are not seen in the review videos taken outside of Prasads.

A person was talking about the recent movie Adipurush starring Prabhas. Some fans did not like what he had to say and attacked the poor man. After that incident, Prasads’ management decided not to allow Prasads’ media and YouTubers to ask for reviews. In a way, this is a very good thing as it protects audiences from such brutal acts of cruelty and, honestly, with people misusing the review space, what’s the point anyway? On the other hand, though  due to the lack of media and YouTubers, the theater that used to be full of art is now fading away.
