Nicaragua’s Sheynnis Palacios was crowned as Miss Universe 2023. The event was held at the Jose Adolfo Pineda Arena in San Salvador, El Salvador. She broke the record as she was the first Nicaraguan woman to win the Miss Universe title. She was crowned by Miss Universe 2022 R’ Bonney Gabriel.
Australia’s Moraya Wilson was the second runner-up while Thailand’s Antonia Porsild was crowned first runner-up at the beauty pageant. Antonia Porsild was also Miss Supranational 2019. Chandigarh-born Shweta Sharda represented India at Miss Universe 2023. She made it to the top 20 finalists. This is Nicaragua’s first-ever victory in the pageant’s history.
In the 72nd Miss Universe pageant this year, contestants from 84 countries participated, which was hosted by American television personality Jeannie Mai and Miss Universe 2012 Olivia Culpo. The event was held at the Jose Adolfo Pineda Arena in San Salvador, El Salvador.
