Shaitaan (2024) Review

The powers that can not be proven by science are called Supernatural powers, There is no proof for either the existence of these powers or to deny the statement. What is however possible is to make up stories in this genre that will last in the minds of viewers for a long time and that gives us chills. This kind of film and story often takes place in India. The demand for these films is always growing.

Story:

The story is all about supernatural powers like Black magic featuring the actors Ajay Devgan, R Madhavan, and Jyothika. An uninvited guest (R Madhavan) at a family’s remote farmhouse in the hills isn’t troubling enough — he needs to be a “vashikaran” specialist whose methods are beyond the grasp of science and whose ends have something to do with, well, with hypnotizing and abducting teenage girls and rounding them up for a Jauhar-style sacrifice so that the reins of the netherworld could be his.

Many Indian children were raised being told not to accept candy or treats from strangers, which is how this diabolical sadist gains control of Janhvi (Janki Bodiwala), Ajay’s daughter. How things go afterwards and how does things settle down is how the film goes.

Thoughts on the Film:

Directed by Vikas Bahl, this film got a great appreciation for the thrills and twists in the film and the viewers are very impressed by the portrayal and the screenplay.

As writing also plays an important role in any film, This film was written well and was made really captivating with the chills they give to the viewers.

But the viewers are abit disappointed by few scenes that has prolonged unnecessarily and few scenes were just to make the viewer walk away from the theatre.

Madhavan gave his best to fulfill his role and he had to involve in the role to be more convincing to the audience. For Madhavan’s portrayal of this unhinged interloper, Madhavan taps into his proclivity for mischief-monger characters. His insinuating himself into the family’s interpersonal dynamics and soon after into their house might begin to seem some kind of masterful.

The Horrifying scenes and the spine chilling twists and thrills are truly impressive and that grabs the audience to the theatres.

What could have been better:

Ajay Devgan could have done better to make viewers travel with the character of a father in the film

The story of the film could have been better as the uniqueness of this film is missing.

Few scenes could have been better without lag, few scenes made viewers lose interest in the film.

The screenplay could have been better to grab the audience to the theatre and keep the chills in them alive.

Is Shaitaan worth watching?

A spine chilling horror thriller film is always a great choice to watch in the theatres and now that the film is giving horrifying experience with mindblowing twists and thrills, You must watch Shaitaan in theatres to experience the horror vibes.
