The top leading online streamer is Disney + Hotstar in India last year ie 2022. As you must be aware, things are not good for Disney+Hotstar. They lost IPL streaming rights along with HBO and Showtime content. Jio Cinema grabbed both of them. Shockingly, still, Disney + Hotstar still ruling India in the first quarter of 2023.
Disney+Hotstar stands in the top spot in the premium Video-on-Demand (VoD) category. The success of the platform is mostly by regional content and an extensive collection of Hindi original content and Sports. On the other side, the combined Zee-Sony group accounted for 13% of the premium VoD category’s consumption.
