Annapoorani, featuring Kollywood lady superstar Nayanthara, landed in trouble since its trailer release. As the Film continues to mount amid allegations of hurting religious sentiments, the makers have revealed their plans in light of growing pressure.
Annapoorani producers issued an unconditional apology and kept the movie off the streaming platform until they edited out the controversial parts. Their apology came after the social media campaigns against the Film, which deals with certain touchy and controversial topics.
They stated to Vishwa Hindu Parishad, “We are in the process of coordinating with our co-producers, M/s. Trident Arts will undertake the requisite actions to address your concerns about the film and with Netflix to immediately remove the film from their platform until edited. We have no intentions as co-producers of the Film to hurt the religious sentiments of the Hindus and Brahmins community and would like to at this moment apologize for the inconvenience caused, and hurt caused to the sentiments of the respective communities,”
