Suhas’ latest outing ‘Writer Padmabhushan’ was released on Friday, February 3. Written and directed by Shanmukha Prasanth, this film too received positive reviews from the audience as well as from our superstars. Mahesh Babu himself encourages through his tweets for the movie.
In the context of the film, the movie gets into a copyright claim from the makers of “Bareilly Ki Barfi” a Bollywood movie. The makers of the Hindi film were claiming that the scenes of the Writer Padmabushan were actually stolen from their movie.
Bareilly Ki Barfi –  romantic comedy film donned by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari adapted from Nicolas Barreau’s novel titled The Ingredients of Love. It stars Kriti Sanon, Ayushmann Khurrana and Rajkummar Rao in lead roles, with Pankaj Tripathi and Seema Pahwa in supporting roles.
Coming to collection numbers, ‘Writer Padmabhushan’ had an excellent run at the box office, collecting over Rs 7 crores gross worldwide. This will be very massive for Suhas and it will be noted as the career-best number. The film has also performed well overseas. It has reportedly grossed over $250k at the USA box office.
The movie team arranged all free shows for a whole day on Wednesday (Feb 8) for women. On the other hand, Sundeep Kishan’s Micheal which was released on the same date miserably failed at the box office. If this trend goes on the film Writer Padmabushan will definitely touch 10 cr gross in its lifetime theatrical run.
