Will the Golden Globes impact the chances of SS Rajamouli’s film at the Oscars?

RRR became a sensation again with the Naatu Naatu song winning an award at the Golden Globes. However, this is the first step, as several major American awards are still pending for SS Rajamouli’s RRR. The film is also in the run-up to the Oscars after its historic win at the Golden Globes.

Apart from all the compliments received since SS Rajamouli’s RRR began, it was today’s Golden Globes that bagged the most visible American honour to date. The historical epic won the Globe for “Best Original Song,” putting composer MM Keeravani straight into the history books. Many believe it boosted its Oscar chances significantly.

It is a known fact that the nominations for the Academy Awards are yet to close, which means that voters still have the chance to watch the film before finalising their ballots. The nominations will be announced later this month, on January 24. RRR received a lot of attention after winning the Golden Globe.

Just a couple of days ago, the core team of Rajamouli and his stars, Jr. NTR and Ram Charan, attended a sold-out screening at Hollywood’s iconic Chinese Theatre. Like the last time, members of the audience got up from their seats and danced in front of the screen during the “Naatu Naatu” song sequence. So, this would make voting bodies notice the film, which increases the chance of winning.
