Gimme more singer Britney Spears recently deactivated her Instagram account, and due to this act, her fans called the police to check on her. According to reports, Ms. Spears posted a video dancing and saying, “I changed my name to River Red,” and then deleted her account, prompting some of her fans to call the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office.
Police conducted a wellness check at the pop star’s house earlier this week after receiving calls from fans alleging “strange activities” involving the singer after she opted to erase her Instagram account. Spears is now pleading with her followers to respect her personal space.
Later, She took it to Twitter and asked fans to chill about the incident. She twitted, “As everyone knows, the police were called to my house based on prank phone calls,” Spears wrote in a Twitter statement Thursday. “I love and adore my fans, but this time things went a little too far, and my privacy was invaded. The police never entered my home, and when they came to my gate, they quickly realized there was no issue and left immediately. This felt like I was being gaslit and bullied once the incident made it to the news and being portrayed again in a poor and unfair light by the media,” she wrote. “During this time in my life, I truly hope the public and my fans, who I care so much about, can respect my privacy moving forward. All the love, B.”
