Tollywood biggies Nandamuri Balakrishna and Chiranjeevi are headed for a clash for Sankranthi. Both films were bankrolled by the Mythri Movie Makers banner. The production house dares to release two of their movies, and releasing movies by Tollywood pillars for Sankranti is not a normal thing.
The films have already done well in presale, including satellite rights and others. There have been whacking sales of tickets in the overseas market too. Balayya is leading the race with more sales than Chiru in the overseas market.
Meanwhile, the latest buzz is that the movie industry is planning to hike ticket prices for their releases. But there is no official data supporting this. If they want to hike the prices, they have to get permission from the state governments of both states.
Both films had more theatre visits than the average, but the dubbing film Varisu outperformed the regional films. So there is a change in the hike in ticket prices. Let’s wait for the official announcement if they really want to.
