Bollywood was in bad shape in 2022, with every other movie that didn’t do well at the box office failing miserably. Nonetheless, Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan made its debut in 2023, kicking off the year in style. The action thriller surpassed numerous records, achieved a new high point, and earned Rs. 1050 crore worldwide.
The movie gave people optimism that this year would bring some excellent results, but nothing has changed from last year. Now, director Vivek Agnihotri has poked fun at the box office flops of films that were released this year by tweeting about them.
This year, several big-budget movies were released, including Bholaa, Shehzada, Selfiee, and Tu Jhooti Main Makkaar. However, they all utterly failed at the ticket booths. After Pathaan with Shehzada, which also starred Kriti Sanon and was a box office success, it was anticipated that Kartik Aaryan, whose film Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 was a hit last year, would continue his winning streak. After Brahmastra, Ranbir and Shraddha Kapoor hoped Tu Jhooti Main Makkaar would boost the box office. Akshay Kumar, who had a disastrous year with back-to-back releases, was not shocked by Selfiee, which also starred Emraan Hashmi, failing. Ajay Devgn’s Bholaa, the most recent release, likewise falls short of expectations. Now It seems like the filmmaker has deleted the tweet.
