Vijay Sethupathi will no longer play villains! Reveals the reason

Is it because of Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan that Vijay Sethupathi has announced he will no longer play villains?

Jawan actor Vijay Sethupathi revealed at the recently concluded International Film Festival of India that he will not be taking on any more negative roles due to a number of constraints.
Speaking at the recently concluded International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa, the actor revealed that he agreed to play the antagonist a number of times because the protagonist would call him up and ask him to play the role. He also stated that he no longer wants to play villains because he believes the producers put too much emotional pressure on him.

Furthermore, there are several constraints when playing a negative role, such as having to underplay the character so that the protagonist or “hero” is not overshadowed. Vijay Sethupathi also stated that his roles as villains are frequently cut at the editing table. He went on to say that for these reasons, he has decided not to take on any more villain roles, at least for the time being.
