Vicky Kaushal’s upcoming anticipated film got shelved; Click to know more

Vicky Kaushal

Vicky Kaushal has been in the headlines following the recent announcement by Sanjay Leela Bhansali about the next film, Love And War. The actor will be seen with Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor. Filmmaker Aditya Dhar has finally revealed why his highly anticipated film, The Immortal Ashwatthama, has been later shelved. The film was announced in 2020 and is supposed to star Vicky Kaushal in the lead.

Dhar has now revealed that the mythological superhero actioner was “too big” for the Indian cinema, and therefore, the team understood it was “impossible to make it” considering budget constraints.

“We have put that on the back burner right now. I’ll be honest, the kind of vision we all had for that it was too big to work for Indian cinema. The kind of VFX quality we were looking at, nobody has even strived for it here,” Dhar said during the trailer launch of his movie, Article 370, on Thursday.

Dhar highlighted the importance of achieving excellence in filmmaking, emphasizing that compromising quality was not an option. Drawing parallels with legendary director James Cameron’s approach with ‘Titanic’, Dhar stresses the necessity of waiting for the right moment when technology and market conditions align to realize the intended vision fully.

Aditya Dhar remains committed to delivering remarkable cinematic experiences. As evidence of his dedication, he has produced ‘Article 370’, a film featuring his wife, Yami Gautam, and Priyamani in pivotal roles, with ‘Article 370’ slated for release on February 23.
