Tollywood hero Varun Tej, who recently got engaged to Lavanya Tripathi, has another piece of good news for fans. His 14th movie, titled ‘Matka,’ was launched in Hyderabad today.
For this movie, Varun Tej will be joining hands with director Karuna Kumar of ‘Palasa’ fame. The movie is said to be a visual spectacle on a massive scale.
The film title is drawing curiosity among movie buffs, and the name ‘Matka’ means a form of gambling. The plot of the film is said to be set between the years 1956 and 1982 in Vizag’s backdrop and is based on a real-life incident that shook the entire nation.
This Pan-India film will have Meenakshi Chowdary in the lead actress role and Nora Fatehi in a special role. The film is produced by Mohan Cherukuri (CVM) and Dr Vijender Reddy Teegala under Vyra Entertainments. The project formally commenced with a pooja ceremony in Hyderabad today. Coming to the technical crew of the movie, GV Prakash Kumar will score the soundtracks, and Priyaseth will crank the camera.
