Varun Grover’s ‘All India Rank’
Varun Grover, the new director in the town, is debuting with the film ‘All India Rank’. The debutant director interviewed recently spoke about his upcoming film All India Rank and revealed the main motive behind making that film.
Talking about the main motive and why Varun chose this movie for his debut, he said, “This story has been brewing in my mind for two decades. I have always wondered whether it is worth it to make children go through the pressure of competitive exams. They are somehow made to feel that if they don’t ace it, their life is over.”
Varun recalled when he was studying civil engineering and commented, “It was a very stressful period of my life.”
He shared his nostalgic moments from the past and how simple life was back then. The first-time director said, “It is difficult to get rid of the nostalgia of those years, whether it’s Kumar Sanu, Alisha Chinai’s songs or old Doordarshan serials. I really like the simplicity of the era where you could ride a cycle to the park, meet your friends and gossip for hours instead of trawling the internet for doomsday stories or social media likes.”
He further mentioned another motive of the film he said “The film tries to dive into the layers of the middle-class mentality of constantly chasing bigger dreams,”
Varun Grover also commented on the Indian education system and how it affects children. He said, “We keep reading something or the other about how a child ends up self-harming or goes through such stress… We should understand that at the age of 16–17, you should not let your child go through such pressure. Our entire education system is unfair and extremely stressful for children.”
“All India Rank” is set to release on 23rd February 2024 and features Shashi Bhushan, Sheeba Chaddha, Ayush Pandey, Geeta Agrawal Sharma, and Samta Sudiksha. Sanjay Routray and Sarita Patil of Matchbox Shots produce it.
