TN issues a ban on Pongal releases?

Like as we have 2 biggie releases for Pongal, Kollywood has also major films releasing for the festival. They have Ajith’s Thunivu and Thalapathy’s Varisu. Exhibitors across Tamil Nadu are overwhelmed pinning high hopes on minting cash on the first few days of the release.

A few days ago, the bookings opened for both movies across the state. and many shows which have been scheduled for early morning in the first five days have been filling fast. However, the state government has come up with an unexpected announcement, leaving movie buffs shocked.

The state government of Tamilnadu issued a G.O., and the Department of Revenue Administration and Disaster Management has come up with a few guidelines which exhibitors must strictly follow. As per their instructions, no movie hall should screen the films at 4 am and 5 am from January 13 to 16.

Along with this, they didn’t mention any specific reason behind his not permitting the shows at that time. The guidelines also stated that not to erect any huge cutouts of actors on the theatre premises.

Exhibitors have to react on how they are going to refund money to those who have already booked tickets for morning shows on those dates.
