Timothee Chalamet seals a deal with Warner Bros. to star in and produce new films following the success of ‘Wonka’ and ‘Dune’

The terms of the arrangement have not been disclosed, but it is a “multi-year” agreement. Timothee Chalamet stated that the “partnership feels like a natural next step”.

Warner Bros. has weighed in on Timothee Chalamet’s business. The studio struck a multi-year feature film deal with the actor to work together on future projects as both a star and producer.

Chalamet led Warner Bros.’ back-to-back box office smashes, “Wonka” ($632 million globally) and “Dune: Part Two” ($575 million globally and counting). According to the studio, he became the first actor in four decades to appear in the top two domestic films released within eight months.

Following his box office success, Chalamet will see an increase in his compensation. According to sources, the actor made more than $8 million for the film “Wonka.” He now expects to earn double digits for leading roles in studio films.

In a statement, Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group co-chairs and CEOs Mike De Luca and Pam Abdy said they’ve respected his “commitment to his craft” and his “unwavering dedication to give 100% of his time and attention to every project he has made.”

In a statement, Timothée said of De Luca and Abdy, “These are studio heads who believe in real filmmaking, and I’m so grateful for their support as an actor, producer, and collaborator.” This collaboration seems like a natural next step. “Let us go!”

Chalamet is best recognized as an actor, having appeared in Oscar best-picture nominees such as “Call Me by Your Name,” “Lady Bird,” “Little Women,” and “Dune.” He has also produced Luca Guadagnino’s cannibal love story “Bones and All,” in which he co-starred with Taylor Russell, and James Mangold’s Bob Dylan biography “A Complete Unknown,” which is now in production.

The 28-year-old just became the first star in a span of forty years to star in two top-grossing films released within eight months of each other, with Dune: Part Two making $575.5 million and Wonka grossing more than $632 million worldwide. The previous record holder was John Travolta with Grease and Saturday Night Fever.
