The South Indian versatile actor Dulquer Salman was reportedly the first choice for the role of Dushyant in Gunasekhar’s much-anticipated movie ‘Shaakuntalam’. However, he had already allocated dates, ‘SitaRamam’ led to him not being able to take up the role.
‘Shaakuntalam’ is a highly anticipated movie based on the epic love story of King Dushyant and Shakuntala. Although Dulquer Salman’s fans were disappointed to hear that he wouldn’t be a part of the movie.
Coming to Shaakuntalam is releasing today on big screens in Indian regional languages. As of now, there is no buzz and the ticket bookings are very poor. The movie team utterly failed to reach a wider range of audience through promotional campaigns.
Along with Sam, the movie stars Allu Arha, daughter of Icon Star Allu Arjun. This mythological conceptual story was bankrolled by Dil Raju under his SVC production house.
