Ever since Anil Kapoor’s Mr. India released in Indian Cinemas in 1987, it’s been impossible to move on from the legendary direction, acting, cinematography, scripting – every nitty gritty that is required to bring together a movie, it spellbinds everyone even today, after so many years of it’s shelf life gone.
Shekhar Kapur, the mastermind director behind it, is constantly asked about the sequel and he finally broke his silence on it and said, “I can count at least 10 characters which people remember from the movie. Somebody needs to understand that about Mr. India it was not about one man with power, but about every character. Javed Akhtar created them on script and then we worked on it. Somebody has to build a universe of characters, it cannot be only about one invisible man.”
Going ahead with a question fan posed, he revealed how much he was offered for bringing Mr. India 2 to the table and that it can remunerate the amount in just 3 weeks. He brags about the greatness of the movie and goes on. “It’s film that emotionally move generations, that define an age. Those are the important films. And @iamsrk has done quite a few I was offered 300cr to make Mr India 2, claiming they will make their money back in just 3 weeks I said 3 weeks? but Mr India has lasted 30 years”

The sequel of Mr. India has been in discussion for some time, but no definite plans have been confirmed yet.
