The internet has been a frenzied mess since the news about the Uday-Majnu original cast’s replacement broke out. Both, Anil Kapoor and Nana Patekar won’t be playing their parts in Welcome 3. After a painfully long wait, we’re here with the real reason why Anil Kapoor left Welcome 3.
It was disclosed that originally, the production house was enthusiastic about the third instalment with Anil Kapoor and Nana Patekar but the bridge came collapsing down when Anil Kapoor demanded an overboard amount to work in the film – 18 crores. That’s when Producer Firoz Nadiadwala had to back it off with Kapoor, and since Uday-Majnu had a collective identity in the movie, it’d be a flop show if Nana Patekar was paired with Anil Kapoor’s replacement – so, they changed the complete duo instead of just one. In turn, because of Anil Kapoor’s demand, Nana Patekar lost his role in the film as well. Now, the finalized cast for Uday-Majnu is the classic Munna Bbai-Circuit duo, aka Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi, reborn as Uday and Majnu in Welcome 3.
A while ago, the crew announced that the movie’s title will be ‘Welcome To The Jungle‘, the third part of the Welcome Franchise. Moreover, they have locked Christmas 2024 as the theatre entrance date. Before that, there was also news that Mika Singh and Daler Mehndi will be entering the film as actors. With so many additions, the fans are not looking forward to the release, as they believe there’s too much hotchpotch going on, and too many cooks always spoil the broth.
