The terror of the NUN is here; releases tomorrow

NUN-2

One of the most anticipated movies of all time, THE NUN II, is here. Five years after the first release of his insidious assault on unaware priests in the first movie, the evil Valak reemerges for another frightful haunting in The Nun II. Valak spreads his evil once more and kills innocent priests, luring Sister Irene (Taissa Farmiga) into his catastrophic hauntings in 1950s France.

Four years after the Saint Carta incident, a new wave of mysterious killings of priests and sisters occurred, prompting Sister Irene to investigate the case. This time, instead of travelling with Father Burke, Sister Irene will be joined by Debra, a fellow sister from the same church. The hauntings of Valak started when Sister Irene and Maurice got back together as a result of a series of events.

The Nun II links the first movie and Conjuring 2, which was once introduced as its precursor. Valak’s shackles have also been released for this movie, making him much more active than in the previous one and raising the stakes. But once more, Sister Irene receives preferential treatment in the form of dubious plot armour that helps her survive encounters.

The Nun II ramps up the horror factor and presents more graphic and frightening visuals, opening with a graphic scene of a priest being brutally burned alive in front of a young child. In addition, The Nun II has more than only Valak; a devil that resembles Baphomet stalks its target and gives viewers chills.

The tension in the film is heightened by the unsettling ambience, which includes many scenes set in gloomy locations and unsettling halls, notably the ancient chapel of the boarding school. Sadly, despite the terrifying characteristics of Valak, there are very few jump scares throughout the film that actually made me jump.
