The first half of this year was completed and only a handful of films were successful. But the real test begins for the TFI in the second half. Very hyped-up movies are releasing in the latter six months of 2022. Let’s see the releases that are slated for this year from now.
As the verdict is already known, The second half of 2022 started with Macho Star Gopichand’s Pakka Commercial. Starring Rashi Khanna alongside him and directed by Maruthi, the film didn’t get any good reviews. On July 8th, Lavanya Tripathi’s Happy Birthday will be out. Produced by Mythri Movie Makers and Clap Entertainments, the film is helmed by Ritesh Rana, the director of Matthu Vadhalara. Already the recently released trailer is viral all over social media. There is good hype for the flick and can be a surprise blockbuster. On the 14th of this month, Ram Pothineni’s The Warrior will hit the screens. Starring Aadi Pinisetty, Krithi Shetty, Akshara Gowda, the flick is directed by Lingusamy and produced by Srinivasa Chitturi. The film is one of the big releases of this year and has every chance to be a hit film. On the 22nd, there are two films touted to be released. One being Akkineni Naga Chaitanya’s Thank You and the other is Nikhil Siddartha’s Karthikeya-2. According to the distributors talk, there is a chance of Karthikeya-2 postponement to August on the request of Dil Raju, the producer for Thank You. While Manam fame Vikram K Kumar directs this film, Karthikeya-2 is helmed by Chandoo Mondeti. On July 29th, Adivi Sesh’s HIT: The Second Case and Mass Maharaj Raviteja’s Ramarao On Duty are going to be released. Sesh’s film is the sequel to Viswaksen’s HIT movie and is directed by Sailesh Kolanu. Rama Rao On Duty is directed by Sarath Mandava and stars Divyansha Kaushik alongside Ravi. Sri Lakshmi Venkateswara Cinemas is bankrolling this project.
Coming to August, Nandamuri Kalyan Ram’s Bimbisara and Dulquer Salman’s Sita Ramam will be released on the 5th. Both the films’ recent teasers have got good reviews. Bimbisara is directed by Mallidi Vashist and stars Catherine Tresa, Samyuktha Menon alongside Kalyan Ram. The actor himself is producing the film. Sita Ramam is touted to be a feel good romantic film directed by Hanu Raghavapudi. Mrunal Thakur will be seen as the love interest of Dulquer. Vyjayanthi Movies and Swapna Cinema are jointly bankrolling this project. On August 12th, Akkineni Akhil’s most hyped movie Agent is coming out. Directed by Surender Reddy, Akhil will be seen as an agent of Indian intelligence organization RAW. Mammootty is donning a key role. The same day, Nithin’s Macherla Niyojakavargam too will be hitting the screens. Kirthi Shetty and Catherina Tresa are the female leads in this MS Rajasekhar Reddy directorial. Shresht Movies, Aditya Movies and Entertainments are jointly bankrolling the project. On August 25th, Vijay Deverakonda and Puri Jagannadh’s prestigious project Liger will be out. The film is going to be released worldwide. Ananya Pandey is playing the love interest of VD an Mike Tyson is essaying a powerful role. The recently released nude poster of Vijay has already created a sensation.
On September 30th, Sudheer Varma’s combo with Ravi Teja, Ravanasura will see it’s release. Sushanth is playing a key role in this project. Along with Ravi Teja’s banner RT Team Works, Abhishek Pictures is bankrolling the project.
On December 23rd, Shiva Nirvana’s directorial Kushi will hit the screens. Vijay Deverakonda and Samantha Ruth Prabhu will be teaming up for the first time. Mythri Movie Makers are producing this feel good entertainer.
For now, these are the expected movies for this year, and many more may join the list as October is yet to be announced for any big release. The release dates, too, are changing as per the situation the movie teams face. The Tollywood cirlces are hoping that the second half will bring more blockbuster to the industry than the first half.
