Tollywood leading lady Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Dev Mohan starrer film Shaakuntalam is an adaptation from internationally acclaimed Kalidasa’s Sanskrit play Abhijnana Shakuntalam is all set to release in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada on February 17. Interestingly the film is releasing in 3D.
The plot of Shaakuntalam revolves around the epic love story of Shakuntala and King Dushyant from Mahabharata, portrayed by Samantha and Dev respectively. This lead pair was last seen in Samantha’s Yashoda. Actually, the film’s release date was November 4, 2022. But due to some reasons, the release was postponed several times, and also Sam is suffering from a rare disease.
The makers unveiled the first motion poster of the film on September 23. The poster put the audience in shock and mesmerized, raising their enthusiasm and expectations to watch this upcoming mythological drama on the silver screen.
Supremely proficient director Gunasekhar is the director for this love tail. The cast includess Sachin Khedekar Kabir Bedi, Dr. M. Mohan Babu, Prakash Raj, Madhubala, Gautami, Aditi Balan, Ananya Nagalla, and Jishu Sengupta in pivotal roles. Icon Star Allu Arjun’s daughter Allu Arha portrays the role of Prince Bharata.
