Sara Ali Khan’s religious beliefs
Sara Ali Khan‘s religious background is pretty self-explanatory from her name. But, Sara doesn’t like to go by her name or the ‘religion’ that’s printed on her birth certificate. She’s an avid worshipper of Lord Shiva and posts several photos of visiting Shiv Mandirs regularly. Simultaneously, she also religiously practices Islam. From her parents’ religious ideologies, it’s not a shocker for Sara to be a blend of both. But, her fans are not very happy with this.
In an interview, she confidently put forth, “I learned that my sense of validation should not come from anything external, including the way I look. So, I grew up with qualities that were very innate, very inherent, very internal. And because they’re rooted in such a secure place inside me, I’m not fazed by other people’s opinions of me. At my core, I’m still the same girl that went to Columbia to study Russian history. I think having a strong sense of self and not defining myself by what people think of me is the only way to keep going.”
She clarified that when someone criticizes her work or acting skills, she takes it constructively because that’s the part she gives the audience to pinpoint on. However, when her personal life is in question, she firmly believes that everyone has the freedom to choose which religion they follow and anyone who belittles her or disses her for going to temples despite having ‘Khan’ in her name, she’s the least bothered person on this planet. “I definitely appreciate any kind of criticism when it comes to my work. I work for the audience and if they don’t like my work, it behoves me to see what I can do better. But if they have an opinion on anything personal, whether it’s my religious beliefs, my sense of dressing or my non-blow-dried hair at the airport, I don’t care.”
Born to a Muslim father and a Sikh mother Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh, Sara Ali Khan is a Muslim girl who is a human first before anything else, as she claims. Moreover, she’s a phenomenal actress with extremely humble, calming vibes and her talks are so ‘middle-class’ that everyone can relate to her on a personal level. That’s one reason she’s loved immensely by the audience and in turn also for Amrita Singh’s amazing upbringing.
Recently, she won everybody’s hearts with her middle-class girl role in Zara Hatke Zara Bachke beside Vicky Kaushal.
