Salman’s comments on younger actors go viral; here’s what the actor has to say

At the 68th Filmfare Awards conference, Salman’s comments on awards and younger actors caught everyone’s attention. Initially, when Salman was asked about younger actors, Salman praised them for being focused and diligent but called them out for charging a staggering amount of money without having a strong box office pull.

He also said that although the millennial stars show promise, the ‘90s superstars will continue to give them a run for their money. “The five of us (Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar, and Ajay Devgn) are not going to give it up so easily,” he said.

“We increase our fees because our films work at the box office. The younger stars also take cues and follow suit, when we are not available. Why?”, he added.

He also revealed why he doesn’t take award shows seriously. He claimed that once the Filmfare Awards authorities told him he would be given the award for ‘Best Actor’ after the immense success of ‘Maine Pyaar Kiya’, the trophy went to Jackie Shroff instead. He also stated that his ultimate validation comes from the love and respect he gets from his fans and audience.
