The countdown is on for the release of the highly-anticipated Ponniyin Selvan: 2, which is slated to release in cinemas worldwide on April 28. Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan: 1 was a huge success, winning critical acclaim and setting box office records. Well, for those who are eagerly waiting for its sequel — Ponniyin Selvan: 2 and also for fans who are planning to revisit part 1 — here’s some good news.
Director-actor Parthiban took to Twitter and revealed that he expressed his wish of seeing Ponniyin Selvan: Part 1 in theatres, to Mani Ratnam. He shared a response that he received from the maverick director who shared the good news. In the message, Mani Ratnam revealed that the team is planning to release Ponniyin Selvan: Part 1 in selected theatres on April 21.
Ponniyin Selvan 2 will feature Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Chiyaan Vikram, Karthi, Trisha Krishnan, and Jayam Ravi in lead roles. Apart from these superstars, Sobhita Dhulipala, Sarathkumar, Prabhu, Lal, Kishore, Ashwin Kakumanu, and Aishwarya Lekshmi will also feature in the film.
