One of the acclaimed directors from Bollywood, Sanjay Leela Bhansali is currently busy doing prep work for his upcoming film Baiju Bawra starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt.
Baiju Bawra is said to be one of the passionate projects of Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The talks about taking the film onto sets have also been doing rounds for a few months. The CEO of Bhansali Productions recently opened up about how casting for the film has been ongoing since the pandemic.
Actress Rhea Chakraborty who dated Sushant Singh Rajput briefly before his suicide and garnered limelight due to the controversial death of the actor have said to auditioned for a lead female role in Baiju Bawra. Although nothing about it is confirmed yet, Rhea is surely trying to make her comeback.
Alia Bhatt who collaborated with Sanjay Leela Bhansali for Gangubai Kathiawadi which gave her the National Best Actress award bagged the female lead role in Baiju Bawra. However, the Makers of the film haven’t confirmed anything officially.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali is busy with his upcoming project Heeramandi as well. Heeramandi is based on the lives of courtesans. This web series shows the courtesans for three generations in a district of pre-independent India. This series boasts a star cast like Manisha Koirala, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sharmin Segal, Sanjeeda Sheikh, and Richa Chadha among others.
