Raveena Tandon felt like former PM Indira Gandhi

Manoj Bajpayee, who co-starred in the film Shool with Raveena Tandon and Rajpal Yadav, has shared an amusing event from the set. Manoj stated that they were filming in his hamlet Bettiah, and that roughly 10,000 people had come outside the set to see the actors, particularly Raveena Tandon, who was at the height of her popularity at the time.

“I felt like there could have been a riot if people crossed the barricade and came inside,” he told The Lallantop. Raveena Tandon was a superstar who was at the pinnacle of her career at the time. My father also paid her a visit.”

“After shooting the scene, the way we took Raveena out of there is historic in and of itself,” he added. Raveena was surrounded by six layers of police officers. When I inquired if she was having any problems, Raveena replied, ‘I am feeling like Indira Gandhi here.'” The actress lauded Rajpal, saying, “After Rajpal Yadav’s first two takes, me and Raveena were very shocked and impressed.”

Raveena had previously stated that Ram Gopal Varma was not interested in casting her in the project. “If you see Shool, there’s Manoj Bajpayee and me,” she stated on Netflix’s Actors’ Roundtable. I’m Manjiri, and I’m portraying a lower-middle-class Bihari housewife complete with orange sindoor. Ramu Gopal Varma was the producer. And he was not persuaded at all. ‘No, Raveena,’ he responded. I close my eyes and all I see is you singing ‘Ankhiyon Se Goli Maare.’ ‘Ramu, please yaar!’ I said. He couldn’t recognise me as Manjiri.”
