Ranbir Kapoor’s Ramayana makers in talks with Warner Brothers of DNEG for VFX works

Ranbir Kapoor’s Ramayana makers are still hunting for Oscar winners.

The Oscar-winning team of Hans Zimmer and AR Rahman is composing the music and background soundtrack for Ramayana, while another Oscar-winning team, DNEG, will handle the visual effects.

Pinkvilla has been providing real-time updates on the Ramayana, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, for the past two years.

The classic tale of virtue triumphing over evil stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, and Sunny Deol as Hanuman.

The team is committed to bringing out an uncompromised product for the viewers in what is considered the most ambitious film of Indian Cinema, Ramayana.

Nitesh Tiwari’s film is officially began into production on April 2 in Mumbai, and Ranbir Kapoor is slated to join the cast within a week.

Pinkvilla has exclusively learned that Namit Malhotra is fulfilling his pledge of making Ramayana a global enterprise.

According to people close to the project, Namit Malhotra is in talks with Warner Brothers about a major cooperation that will include all three sections of the Ramayana.

All of the players have gone out of their way to make this project a reality for the spectacle, with the unified objective of representing an Indian story on a global scale.

The budget isn’t even a consideration because the team is going all out for a realistic portrayal of India’s most revered epic,” said one source.

According to the source, Namit is in the process of negotiating a big contract with DENG’s Warner Brothers.

The market ambitions are only the tip of the iceberg, as Ramayana is a 100% made-in-India film based on an Indian story aiming for global dominance,” the insider noted.

There are also rumours that Vijay Sethupathi could play Raavan’s youngest brother, Vibhishan.

Lara Dutta and Sheeba Chaddha will also be part of the film. While Lara will play the role of Lord Ram’s stepmother, Kaikeyi, Sheeba will be seen as Manthara.

Namit Malhotra, Nitesh Tiwari, and Yash are currently producing Ramayana with an estimated budget of Rs 600 crore.
