Prime Video has revealed the premiere date of the highly anticipated action-spy thriller Citadel. The series will premiere on Prime Video on Friday, April 28 with two episodes. Then a new episode will be released every Friday till May 27. The series is produced by AGBO and David Weil of the Russo Brothers. It stars Richard Madden, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Stanley Tucci and Leslie Manville. Citadel will be available in over 240 countries worldwide.
Citadel was an independent global spy agency tasked with upholding the safety and security of its people. But eight years ago, the powerful syndicate Manticore destroyed it. With the fall of the Citadel, its agents Mason Kane (Richard Madden) and Nadia Sinh (Priyanka Chopra Jonas) lose their memories and barely escape with their lives. The series shows how these guys recalled their memory and stopped Manticore from destroying the world.
Since then they have been in hiding. They live in a new identity unaware of their past. One night, Mason meets his former Citadel colleague, Bernard Orlick (Stanley Tucci). Mason’s help is desperately needed to stop Manticore from creating a new world. Mason searches for his ex-partner, Nadia. They team up and later fight against Manticore which is the series plot.
Starring Richard Madden, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Stanley Tucci and Leslie Manville, The Citadel is the start of a global franchise. Its subsequent series and films will be produced worldwide. Each Citadel series will be created, produced and filmed locally. And the effort is to introduce the best talent and grow it into a unique global franchise. The series starring Matilda De Angelis, Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu has already started shooting in Italy and India respectively.
