The trend of re-releasing Telugu movies is becoming popular in Tollywood. This strategy aims to present these films to the audience again in a fresh way. Movies like Pokiri, Businessman, Okkadu, Simhadri, Khushi, Jalsa, Orange, Desamuduru, and Billa have delighted audiences through multiple re-releases. Even films like Yogi, starring Prabhas, and Raghuvaran B.Tech, have returned to theaters this week.
During these re-releases, fans are known for their intense excitement. They often bring paper bags to toss in the air in celebration. It’s common to see them standing on chairs and dancing to the songs. Some fans have even reportedly lit firecrackers inside the theatre, leading to disruptive behaviour.
During the recent re-release of the movie Yogi, there was an incident involving Prabha fans creating disorder. At Sudarshan theatre in Hyderabad, after the movie suddenly stopped during the screening, some fans used a blade to damage the screen.
These fans engaged in destructive actions, including breaking glass, throwing bottles, and causing harm to the theatre’s infrastructure. The theatre management reached out to the police, who filed a complaint against certain fans. An investigation into the matter is currently in progress.
