OMG 2 finally gets U/A, but the release may be postponed

OMG 2 has turned several heads due to it’s controversial entry in CBFC, everyone wondering if the movie will go through. The filmmaker’s goal was to put this crucial movie out for teens and young kids because of the important discussion of masturbation and s*x, but because it has a religious element to it, the CBFC was skeptical. We know what happened when Adipurush in the past disrupted the interpretation of Ramayana. The backlash that the whole team underwent was insane. After that, the religious sentiments of the cine goers has become more sensitive.

Finally, the movie was granted a U/A certificate by Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). But, they want those 20 scenes out. Additionally, they also want Akshay Kumar’s Lord Shiva character to be changed after the posters and teaser is already out. What is the crew saying about this?

The makers are of the opinion of shifting the release date from August 11 as they want to fight against the changes suggested by the committee and also line up proper promotion of the film. There’s news that the release might be delayed. The TOI report further stated that mixing the religious angle of Lord Shiva with sex education could possibly hurt religious sentiments of the viewers. Notably, the movie also has a masturbation scene.

The team insists on keeping the scenes and also approve with the U/A certificate because the message of s*x education must reach the younger generation too. Featuring Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi, and Yami Gautam, will the movie team get it’s grant the way they desire?
