Vikram, featuring Vijay Sethupathi, Fahadh Faasil, and Kamal Haasan in the lead roles, is one of the most anticipated Tamil films. The film is releasing in theatres on the 3rd of June.
But as it turns out, the makers have stuck a no early OTT release clause with the film’s post-theatrical OTT streaming partner Disney Hostar.
Vikram will not be streaming on Disney+ Hotstar at least 4-to six weeks from its theatrical release. The makers have struck a related deal, and the same will be enforced following the film’s theatrical debut.
This move is to boost the film’s box office run. A no early OTT release would mean that the audience might be more inclined to watch the movie in theatres if it garners a unanimously positive response.
