Nithya Menen’s Master Peace coming soon on Disney+Hotstar
Disney+Hotstar is proud to announce the second Malayalam web series Master Peace on their OTT platform. Featuring Sharafudheen, Nithya Menen, Maala Parvathi, Shanthi Krishna and others, the movie’s poster is super interesting.
Directed by Sreejith N and produced by Mathew George, Hotstar and the entire made separate posts on their Instagram with beautiful captions. Nithya Menen writes, “Can’t keep calm cause a Master ‘Peace’ is brewing.. 😉 @disneyplushotstar ‘s second Malayalam web series #Masterpeace ! You’re gonna LOOOOVVVEEE it”
Sharafudheen, Maala Parvathi and Shanthi Krishna wrote, “Excited to unveil the first look poster of DisneyPlusHotstar’s second Malayalam web series #Masterpeace.”
Lastly, Hostar said, “Can’t keep calm cause a Master “Peace” is brewing.”
The recently released ‘Kerala Crime Files‘ was the platform’s first venture into the Malayalam industry. It was a police thriller and quite appreciated by audiences. ‘Master Peace’, however, will be an out and out comedy series.
For the unversed, Nithya Menen is an Indian actress and singer who has acted in more than 55 feature films in various languages. She appeared first on-screen as a child, when she was ten, in the French-Indian English film, Hanuman (1998), playing the younger sister to Tabu’s character. She started her acting career at the age of 17 by appearing in a supporting role in the Kannada film 7 O’ Clock, which was released in 2006. She has played leading roles in Malayalam in Aakasha Gopuram (2008), in Telugu in Ala Modalaindi (2011), in Tamil with Nootrenbadhu (2011). Her Hindi debut was Mission Mangal (2019) in supporting role.
Sharafudheen is an Indian actor who appears in Malayalam films. He made his acting debut in 2013 with Neram. He got his breakthrough by portraying the role of Girirajan Kozhi in Premam (2015). Sharaf U Dheen’s known for both his comedic and villain roles. He’s best known for his roles in the films Paavada (2015), Happy Wedding (2016), Pretham (2016), Georgettan’s Pooram (2017), Njandukalude Nattil Oridavela (2017), Varathan (2018), Neeyum Njanum (2019), Children’s Park (2019), Virus (2019), Anjaam Pathiraa (2020), Halal Love Story (2020), Aarkkariyam (2021) and Rorschach (2022).
Maala Parvathi started her career in anchoring through ‘Ulkazhcha’ in Asianet and made her acting debut in 2007 through the Malayalam film Time directed by Shaji Kailas. Parvathi has 100 plus films to her credit. Some of her notable movies are Neelathamara, Leela, Kanyaka Talkies, Munnariyippu, Take Off, Comrade in America, Godha, Game Over, C U Soon, Maara and Bheeshma Parvam. She has also associated with ‘Abhinaya’, a theatre group in Thiruvananthapuram. Parvati has worked with the director MG Jyothish for the plays The Lady from the Sea (Sagara Kanyaka), The Lesson and Bhagavadajjugam. She has authored a book titled Mayoorageethangal and penned lines for Sreeprasadam and Megamalhar musical albums composed by Damodar Narayanan. Parvathi is passionate about women’s rights and has supported several survivors of GBV. Parvathi is working as a PR Consultant for MSL group since 2006 (clients include Hay Festival, Emirates Airlines etc.). She is also working for Ten Degree North Communications from 2016.
Shanthi Krishna is an Indian actress known for her leading roles in Malayalam and Tamil films. As a star in the 1980s and 1990s, she won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actress for her performance as Sharadammini in Chakoram (1994), the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress – Malayalam for her performance in Njandukalude Nattil Oridavela, and the Kerala state television award for best actress three times in a row.
Out of the entire cast, Nithya Menen is the only one who has a big fame. The remaining are budding artists and if Master Peace becomes a hit, their chances of escalating into Mollywood are high. While other have done numerous projects too, none of them have proved to be a breakthrough for them. So, it’ll be interesting to see what Sreejith is going to present to us with these new faces and talents. For Master Peace to be the 2nd Malayalam web series on the platform is a competition that sets an expectation of its own.
